Almost all of the kids got little to no punishment and the Gertrude made parole after only 19 years doing easy prison time because she lied about being ill and blaming it entirely on her children like if you read the full article of what happens to her it is sickening whats more her family abandons her even her sister is forced to turn on her to save protect herself. Only after sylvia is dead does jenny have the courage to say something and the neighboors KNEW! They should have been tried too. whats the biggest outrage is the time in prison and the fact that the guy who took that house and made it into a house for homeless women only made it for women 18-24 years of age. BTW sylvia was 16 when died and could not use the services of that facility had there been one because she would be too young. Gertrude only tortured sylvia because of her shortcomings in her own life which were due to her own fault and selfishness and her children are probably just as rotten as her to think that paula has a happy life with three children and a husband. wretched monster. and should a woman like paula be allowed to reproduce i thank god child abuse law are stricter nowadays. i bet “an american crime” isnt going to have half the injustices that was done to sylvia and from the previews they make Gertrude alot better than she really was in terms of a caretaker and jenny is a complete saint and i bet stephanie will be canonized.
