Politics And History
A couple of days ago I woke up and my the news is on.
In the state of California Proposition 22- Marriage should only be between a man and a woman. The high court overturned that proposition so technically for now gay marriage is legal in the state of California which makes it the second state in the US to legalize gay marriage. The first one is Massachusetts.
Some hope that there is going to be a ‘rippling’ effect and other states will pick up on the gay marriage thing.
I saw a lot of happy homosexuals proposing to their love ones in the news. I think they shouldn’t jump into marriage quite yet because there still going to be a vote to keep this permanent or not in November.
According to a conservative group they already have 1.5 million signatures against gay marriage rights and return marriage between a man and woman exclusively in the state of California.
What I think? I’m not a big marriage fan at all, gay or hetero. I don’t understand it why someone needs to get married but maybe I think that way because I’m still young. If I was more coked up I’d start an against marriage (period!) rally!
I think it’s funny how these conservatives think two people getting married who just so happen to have the same genitals are going to ruin their lives.
Sounds familiar? About 40 years ago interracial marriage was illegal in Virginia and people thought the same thing.
“It’s against the will of God”
“It’s unnatural”
Maybe 40 years from now gay marriage will be viewed like interracial marriage is now, mostly not a big deal. So exciting to be part of history. It would make an interesting story to tell your grandchildren.
I don’t mind other’s opinions on topics like because I’m really open and don’t mind whatever you might believe.

In other news I’ve been invited to play the Hello Kitty MMO which is currently in closed beta right now. I know Hello Kitty has nothing to do with politics and history and I’m secretly convince she’s evil but I’m attracted to evil things.

I’m pro gay marriage as well. I don’t see how marriage intertwines with law. If two people of the same gender happen to love each other and want to get married, they should be able to have the right to do so! We’re all people in the end.

I have no problem with gay marriage and I don’t see why other people have such a problem with it. People need to mind their own business and not worry about what people do with their love lives -.-;

From my own POV I think all these stuff started to bloom after “Brokeback Mountain”.

I’m happy for this! Marriage is there to allow for joint rights between two people, which is why gays are all over this like a fat kid is over cake. Civil unions don’t even grant the same rights to couples … ahhhh.
Conservatives are just weird. No comment more, lol.
How long did it take for you to get into the Hello Kitty MMO?

I don’t get what is so wrong with gay marriage either. Yay for California
I think marriage is important for tax and legal purposes - like if your partner gets run over by a bus and you need to make medical decisions for them, if they weren’t married that wouldn’t be able to do that.
let us know what you think of the Hello Kitty MMO! That sounds quite awesome

I, for one, do not have anything against marriage of two people of the same sex. I don’t look at homosexuals in a weird way or anything. To me, if you like someone, you like someone. I don’t get why it’s such a big issue to debate about. I mean, if two people love each other and they want to get married, they should be able to. I don’t even see the problem with it at all and it’s not ‘unnatural’. We’re all just humans after all.

Yeah. That`s what I think too, I know that in the future, it`ll be approved and there`ll be a lot of married homos. And yes, I have nothing against that. I`m practically supporting them, because as cheesy as it may sound, for me, when it comes to love, age, gender, color, whatev, doesn`t really matter. Just as long as you LOVE each other then go for it, if you get married and then decide to break up, annullment baby! Hahahaha.. Just make sure you have tons of $$$$$$$. Hahaha…. :p
Graaah.. What a pointless opinion.
In short. I`m supportive of the gay marriage thing. :]

I have no idea where I stand in this question, never really thought about it since I’m not thinking of marrying a woman myself. I know it’s legal here too, I just know they can’t marry inside the church, they have to marry outside, which is a little odd, I suppose.
Proposing because of a law might not be the best argument for marrying either. I wonder how long that will last.

I’m all for gay marriage. Although, I don’t understand either why people need to get married so bad, gay or straight. If I love someone I don’t need a ring to prove that.

I hope to god it’s less than 40…. more like 4!
Marriage is kinda a funny thing. The benefits (tax breaks, health coverage, emergency situations) are really worth “getting married.” It’s just a piece of paper, but it’s a piece of paper that lets the couple legally do a LOT more than the unmarried couple.

i don’t know what to think of this xD
i have nothing against gay people but for me,id like to think of marriage as something exclusive to man and woman (tho i guess that’s my religion talking)
“Maybe 40 years from now gay marriage will be viewed like interracial marriage is now, mostly not a big deal.”
aye, i guess you’re right there… it’s just a matter of time before the world accepts and views it as normal…

My Dad and I were discussing this the other day. He doesn’t really believe in gay marriage but isn’t completely against it. I think it’s a difference in generations. I was exposed to the concept of homosexuality much more often in adolesence than he was. I still don’t understand though why politicians are making such a big deal out of it. Why was the “issue” ever brought up in the first place?

I personally do not have a very strong opinion about gay people and gay marriages. I mean, I don’t mind and although most people are probably straight (I have to admit I have not checked any statistics or anything so I’m just guessing here) it is perfectly natural to be homosexual, it even “happens” in the animal world so it’s not like it’s something unnatural and if gay people exist (I’m not wondering whether they exist or not, I know they do, I’m just saying..) they exist for a reason, they exist because that’s how nature wants it to be. Perhaps it’s not completely like it “should” be because the difference between men and women is obviously there to “reproduce” but that does not mean something’s wrong with homosexual people. I don’t know if I believe in the statement “if people love each other, they should be able to get married” but it is not up to me to decide for them and if they want to get married they should be able to, whether they are two people of the same gender or not.
That Hello Kitty MMO seems interesting, even though I’m more into MMORPG’s like World of Warcraft, but I haven’t played that one for a long time either, lol. I hope you will like playing the beta. Is it going to be a F2P game or a P2P one?
