Hero Star Saving The Dolphins

While last season we were trying to save her to save the world. Lately Hero’s star Hayden Panettiere has been too busy in Japan trying to save the dolphins.

She didn’t make it in time though. The fishermen fought her off and she had a meltdown when she reached the shore.

Don’t like blood? Don’t watch video.

Please don’t think that I don’t like dolphins or I’m and insensitive bastard. But aren’t these fishermen just trying to make a living? To them dolphins are just another type of seafood and it’s a very big business in Japan. Why isn’t there any save the tuna groups that try to stop tuna or shrimp fishermen?

Because they do tricks right? If tuna did tricks and smile for us I think we would be more caring about them.

  1. Rationally thinking, I agree that the fishermen are just trying to make a living. I think that dolphins are generally considered to be cute and that’s why we care more about them and Hayden’s not off trying to save tuna. I mean, if they were killing bunnies I would be all “Oh no, not the bunnies!”, but I wouldn’t care that much if they killed a buffalo. :S

  2. How do they kill them? I was just wondering that and if it said it in the video I’m sorry I didn’t hear. But unless they’re killed off humanly I really agree with the Save the Dolphins campaign simply if they’re being brutally killed.

  3. I totally agree.

  4. The whole thing just kind of seems like a publicity stunt. :/

  5. I get the whole unfairness of it all. I didn’t actually watch the video, but I guess what you said sums it up. We think it’s OK to kill a bunch of tuna fish because they’re really inferior to humans, they get caught easily, and they don’t do anything much except for feed the human tummy, in which they will have to be killed.
It’s such ridicule. Dolphins are allowed a better life just because they have a higher IQ or something.
    Discrimination again.

  6. you are the 2nd one whom I’ve seen written about this one. i guess it’s some publicity stunt. i dunno. but it makes her popular these days. :)

  7. The reason why dolphins are pretty much getting the “attention” is because most of their species are endangered, if not extinct, unlike, say, tuna or shrimp or any other sea creatures out there. That simple, Exene. ;-p

  8. I agree that fishermen are trying to make a living, but dolphins aren’t just “seafood”. They’re very intelligent creatures, and mammals, just like us. They’re not fish. So eating a dolphin would be like eating a cow and cows don’t deserve to die either and I haven’t heard of anyone who likes eating dolphin. Apart from that, it obviously depends on the way an animal is killed. But, like I said before, dolphins are extremely intelligent and there are so many things we can learn from them. They don’t deserve it to die.

  9. is she really concerned with the dolphins? or she just wanted to build a nature freak lover image to the public?

  10. Haha. I guess you have a point there. ;[ A sad sad point. At first I wanted to disagree but after reading the part wherein you said that, what if tunas were able to do some tricks and smile for us? Would people be sensitive enough to save them? Right. ;] But I still pity the dolphins though. *sad face* IDK. I probably have this thing for them. Gaaad. Such a softy.

About Tom playing Edward Cullen, yeah, I think probably he’ll be too old by the time. Gaspard wouldn’t be too bad either, but the age? Gaaawk. So this is going to remain a mystery right? I mean, who’s gonna play Edward Cullen. But, I’m still excited. I don’t care. A lot of fans are also making petitions here and there for Tom or for Gaspard to play Edward’s part. Haha. ;] Can’t wait for the movie. I’m this obsessed. 8-|

  11. aww, the video wont work for me :(

  12. Maybe dolphins aren’t meant to be eaten.
They can do tricks unlike tunas.
Plus, they are now limited in number.

  13. Eww, I didn’t watch the video.. thanks for the warning, hehe~ I love your last sentence.. kinda funny & some what true. LOL ^________^

  14. Though I don’t agree with what they are doing.. I think you are right about them just trying to make a living and yes it’s true some people don’t make a huge deal when it comes to tuna.

  15. ughh, that is gross. I think there’s more of an outrage because dolphins are considered to be “intelligent” animals (well, more intelligent than dogs) and that they are self-aware. On an intelligence scale, I guess it’s closer to eating a gorilla (think of Koko!) than a tuna?? who knows. but I don’t eat any animal, b/c I think it is gross :P

I agree, I do think it is somewhat hypocritical for people to complain about it if they only consider the “cute” animals… and it’s so annoying when people do things like bitch about wearing fur, then go out and buy Uggs made of shearling… duhh :P

  16. okay, not really a fan of blood, so i don’t think i’ll be watching the video. i’m not really for dolphins being killed, but i do think fishermen are just trying to make a living - definitely. if they’re going to eat the dolphin, that’s completely okay; as long as these animals don’t die in vain, so to speak.

dolphins are probably cuter than tuna, and people are under the misconception that they have more “feelings” than other animals… which i don’t understand. it’s kind of like saying it’s not right to kill a dog, but it’s completely okay to kill 235235 bugs. i know they’re smaller, but… what’s the difference? anyway, if dolphins helps a man feed his family, then no one else should be stopping him from feeding his family.

  17. I’m not gonna watch the video, but aren’t dolphins endangered? I’m pretty sure the only time anyone is going to care about people killing an animal is if they are endangered or insanely adorable.

I hate Hayden Panettiere =/ Do any of these celebrities even actually care about the things they do or are they just trying to convince people that they’re nice?

  18. who knows what she’s thinking. but let’s just hope that it’s really for the benefit of those poor dolphins :D

  19. Maybe because dolphins are almost extinct? Tunas are everywhere. I think. LoL. :D

  20. It’s because dolphins are endagered and nearing extinction. It’s not even about dolphins being cute or being able to perform tricks. If anything, dolphins are actually vicious animals, especially the males =/ They’re super glamorized creatures.

  21. Dolphins are known special creature, even heard it help autistic kids & they’re cutier than shrimps, that’s why lol

Sorry dearie,I just can’t be serious with all these propagandas. They should be focusing on helping hungry people in Africa instead.

  22. I never ended up watching Heroes no matter how good reviews are of it. I don’t know why too. X-P

Btw, where is the blog crew code? I can’t seem to find it. Sorry for asking here, too.

  23. i got the warning of the blood but still sort of watched it yesterday morning. XD

what a way to go get you up early. haha.

but i do love dolphins, even though i hate seafood. =3

  24. Aw, I like dolphins -I’d watch that video, but I don’t think I want to see it x[

  25. Im against any animal killing like that, but we all need to live and that involves eating other animals. The only thing I dont approve the japanese killing is Whales because they are rare and some species are almost extint.

  26. I felt bad for Hayden because it seemed like she really cares for dolphins. I just hope those dolphin killers find a better way to make a living though..

  27. Yeah…. It’s like people who can’t stand to see a dog be hurt. But, eat chicken, beef, and fish all the time.
I have that hypocritical tendency too. I would hate to see someone hurt a cat. But, the dolphins, cows, and chickens are all fair game, lol.

  28. It’s a hypocritical society we live in. People are vegetarians yet they don’t mind watching an animal die or going hunting (oh yes, not all veggies are animal lovers). People won’t eat beef but they’ll eat chicken. I mean come on, it makes no sense what so ever. I can understand wanting to support something like saving dolphins because they are very intelligent and beautiful creatures but the same fairness should be shown for all animals really.

  29. I guess “Save the Tuna” is less catchy than “Save Flipper!”.

Yes, it’s a complex situation… The fishermen are just trying to make a living and feed their families. Still, in any case… both the tuna and the dolphin ARE on the endangered species list. It’s about balance… and humans just take and take and take… not worrying about the consequences down the road.

It’s like a “tax” on the future children of the world. Our attitude is… let them deal with it.

Coincidentally, I just ate a tuna fish sandwich on white bread. Tasted goooood. :)
