25th Birthday Of The Emoticon
Oh I’m sorry that in my last post I was saying babies know every language in the world. Gahh must’ve smoked the wrong stuff that day. I’ve changed it to identifies every dialect.
Happy birthday
Happy birthday
Happy birthday Happy Birthdaaaayyy
Happy birthday
Carnegie Mellon University professor Scott E. Fahlman says that he is the one who started
this day 25 years ago.
Language experts say the smiley face and other emotional icons, known as emoticons, have given people a concise way in e-mail and other electronic messages of expressing sentiments that otherwise would be difficult to detect.
Also here are some of my favorite emoticons. Theses are Japanese or Korean style.
(^o_o^) a pig
(^ 3 ^) a kiss or puckering up the lips
o(^^o) (o^^o) (o^^)o DANCE!
(^O^)g rock—the game of rock-paper-scissors
(^O^)y scissors—the game of rock-paper-scissors
(^O^)W paper—the game of rock-paper-scissors
lol. thanks. i dont want to get too over stressed, do i?
and those are pretty cute smilies. PIGGIES
and HAPPY B-DAY SMILIES
:D
:D
So that explains why last night, those DJ’s over the local radio were emoticon-obsessed and stuff.
Qu ni sheng er kuai le!!11
OMG hahahaha, I love the dancing one. I’m going to start using that.
saw your name off feisty momma’s blog and i had to check out your blog! exene! no relation to exene cervenka right?! haha…just had to ask!
LOL, I’ve deleted a few affiliates, on my new site I’m going to delete LOADS because some of them just never bothered to keep in contact… but I didn’t have the heart to delete them.
Ooh, I love the Wordpress default emoticons… the Cutenews ones suck.
I love the rock paper scissors ones… I’ve never seen ‘em before, but they make sense xD
Good luck
Eh, it still seems plausible to me because you’re born without language and yet everyone is talking to you. If you had been born in China you’d pick up a chinese dialect, if you had been born in Czechoslovakia you’d pick up the czech dialect though you have no previous language history. It’s just the way the baby brain works. What ever it hears, it adapts to. Though…I don’t think that can be counted as knowing every language in the world. I’d say it’s more the capacity to speak and respond to what’s being said.
Abauahahaha! Happy B-day to the emoticon!
o(^^o)(o^^o)(o^^)o
Buahahahaha!!!
Hmm, so babies know every dialect in the world, then we should teach them different languages at a young age instead ! It does make sense but as Sara was saying that babies just adapt to whatever they listen too. It’s the same with us, when we are learning a new language and we watch movies or talk to someone of that same language over time it gets much easier to understand it.
Happy 25th Birthday Emoticon! And you still look just as young as when you were one :P.
I absolutely love these two:
(^o_o^) (^o_o^) (^o_o^)
&
o(^^o) (o^^o) (o^^)o
It’s true that babies are born knowing how to make the sounds to every dialect. Instead of playin’ Mozart while they’re in there, mommas should start playing those teach-yourself-a-language tapes! lol
Wow, I didn’t even know it was the emoticons b-day, haha~ ^_______^
I love the ones you posted.
Smiley birthday?
I like emoticons, but I do think some people overuse them. Sometimes, they’re a bit distracting and break up the flow of reading.
I wrote a humorous entry on emoticons over here.
I love emoticons and smileys! =] But I want hurt the person who started typing lIkE tHiS! Now that is too over used in forums & chats, and such. Lol.
& thnx for commenting my blog. I ‘m not scared of gay! It just freaked me out at what my friend said about my situation.
Hahhahah i never knew the rock-paper-scissors part of those emoticons!
Oh, so smilies also have history? Lol with that.
Happy Birthday
:)!
Well, happy birthday to Mr. Smiley then
And I especially like the dancing emoticon. Makes me want to dance too
I didn’t know that even emoticons had unique birthdays. I thought they were all made in one sitting. Lol.
Wow, how can someone really claim such a thing? Must have been invented by loads of people..but hoorray then
Happy birthday to him! I can’t imagine life on internet without these emoticons:)
Just thought I would leave you a comment just to let you know how much I have enjoyed looking around your site. You have great content and your graphics are great as well!
