Are You Superbad?
Couldn’t blog yesterday because I had a butt splitting head-ache. Anywhoo
Two nights ago I watched that new movie Superbad with my brother. The movie is about Seth Rogan’s (the guy from Knocked Up) childhood as a high school nerd with his friends trying to get alcohol and hooking with girls . I have yet to see Knocked Up but since this is based on the main characters of the movie then if you enjoyed it you’d probably enjoy Superbad as well.
I don’t really care about movie ratings but for those who do it’s rated R. Honestly there was so much alcohol consumption in the movie that I felt like I was drunk after I watched it. Me and my brother laughed at all the McLovin (Christopher Mintz-Plasse) parts. I forgot his name all I remember was McLovin. Sometimes when I see my brother I yell out “There you are McMuffin!” Haha! There were some disturbing scenes with the period blood and obsessively drawing penises parts but it was a really good movie. It was very creative that they thought of those things.
The guy who played Evan (Michael Cera) was a cutie. He was so sweet in the movie and he seems like he’s that way in real life when I saw his interviews in Conan. And he’s 19 I thought he was 15 or something. According to IMDB forums he’s dating Charlyne Yi from the movie Knocked Up. I don’t know if it’s true but here’s a picture of them together in ComiCon.
Speaking of ComiCon I really need to go to one of those next year. I’m a geek for goodness sakes and I never been to one of those! Next year!
Back to the movie. I like the friendship between Evan and Seth it feels real and all the characters seem to act like normal people not like movie people. I don’t know if that make sense but their conversations and actions in the movie don’t feel too scripted.
I never really enjoyed the American Pie movies maybe because I couldn’t identify with any of the characters but Superbad and the rest of the series such as Knocked Up are great.

I got to see Superbad via torrent! I dunno if they’re gonna show it here since the flick mastered the fine art of extreme profanity. Philippine censorship sucks.

Lol, I never watched that movie, but it sounds like a movie I’m never going to watch.
My friend saw that movie and she said it was cool, to much cursing though. It kinda reminded me of American Pie. That was actually a good movie though.Glad to see you enjoyed it though. seems like something you could really laugh your ass off of.

Alcohol consumption? Lol, that interests me. Yeah, I don’t care about movie ratings either because sometimes I feel like it was rated too high or low for all the wrong reasons.
Haven’t seen that movie.

Aha, yess. Me and Tyler have been wanting to see Superbad ever since we saw the advertisement for it. Our theater gets movies really late, though, so it’ll probably be a while before we get to see it.

I also thought Superbad was pretty funny. I first saw Micheal Cera on Arrested Development and then later on online mini-shows. He’s a pretty funny character. His expressions just crack me up!
